MAC Viva Glam I Lipglass

MAC's original Viva Glam is back in lipglass form!

Viva Glam I is a dark, oxblood red with no shimmer. It's very opaque on the lips (which is good or bad depending on how you like your gloss). I do find he color to be very similar to the lipstick. The easiest way to wear it, for me, is applied and then blotted down a bit. I find a heavy application can bleed a bit in lip lines. Personally, I like the lipglass formula. It's not for everyone though as it is quite thick and sticky. This does lead to better staying power though.

Proceeds from Viva Glam products go to the MAC AIDS fund. I love that the purchase of these products go to charity. It makes me feel a bit better about (and helps justify) another gloss purchase!

Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream review

Smashbox Camera Ready CC Cream is supposed to "fade imperfections, even the complexion, and prevent future discoloration." It also claims to "prime, perfect, protect with SPF 30, moisturize, and control oil." (All claims from Sephora website)

I have this in the shade Light; it's available in 5 shades. The light shade has a distinct yellow undertone, which helps to cover some redness I have in my cheeks. The coverage is, at best, a step up from a tinted moisturizer. It blends nicely and feels good on the skin. I feel it does fade quite a bit throughout the day on my normal skin. I'm not sure about the claim of fading imperfections since I don't wear it everyday.

This certainly isn't a full coverage foundation, but is nice for wearing on days when you don't feel like doing a full face. It has decent SPF.

Overall, this is a nice product but I doubt I would repurchase... Mostly because there are so many other face products to try!

Smash box Fade In Palette Review

I had some Ulta points to spend and picked up the Smashbox Fade In palette. This is limited edition for Fall 2013 and costs $42.

This palette is great for creating everything from a soft, neutral eye to some serious smokey glamour! The palette is a nice mix of matte and shimmer with 4 totally matte shades, 3 shimmers, and one matte with glitter. Almost all the shades feel soft and buttery; the exception being the matte with glitter. It isn't hard to work with, but the texture is a bit drier.

The packaging is sturdy plastic with a pretty gradient from a pinkish purple to black. There is a mirror that runs the length of the lid. It does come with a short handled brush (I can't seem to find mine), bit the quality is good and it's a nice addition.

Overall, I think it's a great Fall palette and is quite versatile considering there are only 7 shades.
